If your one of the 1.9 million Australians that have jumped on the Netflix much needed bandwagon I say well done as you now have access to FX’s TYRANT which tells the thrilling story of an unassuming American family that is drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Barry Al-Fayeed is a typical pediatrician living in Pasadena with his wife Molly and two children Sam and Emma but when the family embarks on a trip home for Barry’s nephews wedding you soon find that Barry may just be a everyday doctor in America but back home he is practically royalty. Barry is the youngest son of a Middle Eastern iron fisted Dictator whos family has ruled Abuddin for generations and after having to witnessed various horrific atrocities committed by his father he fled his homeland at the age of only sixteen to start a life in America but after returning home in a time of great civil unrest it will not be as easy to return to America with his family as he is swept up into trying to hold his family together and keep his country from complete destruction.
This is truly an amazing series, which will have you hooked from the very first episode. If there is a show which entices binge viewing, 4-5 episodes at a sitting, this is it. Just one more episode before heading to bed you will say, and before you know it, your getting ready for work with limited sleep. How can i get an episode in while at work without getting caught by the boss will most likely cross your mind….maybe get the boss interested, just a thought.
I give this show a 4/5 and recommend you get yourself a comfortable couch as you will be there for quite a while…
